Parktown West is in Region 8 sub area 13. This sub area is all of Parktown west of Jan Smuts in the west.

The City of Joburg's RSDF is a "high-level" document which defines the objectives and interventions for the area and will determine their view of any development in the area.  The detailed Precinct Plan gives further details and requirements street by street in this area. The Precinct Plan is still being reviewed by the City of Joburg's planning department and the Parktown Association's RSDF submission is being used as the basis of the review.  This plan is being used by the community to advise and guide the recommendations and comments on developments in the area.  We encourage all home owners, prospective home owners, developers and their town planners and architects to review the document in detail.
